If you are struggling to get the ingredients for the “bake a long” the very lovely Nicola's Gateaux have been in touch and they will freely provide all the base ingredients to anyone wanting to be a part of the "Great Meltham Sconeathon".

** UPDATE **
• 1lb / 453g Self Raising Flour • 1/2 Tsp Salt • 4oz / 114g SOFT Butter • 2oz / 57g Caster Sugar • 2oz / 57g Sultanas / OR Chopped Cherries • Approx. 250/300ml Room Temperature Milk (Blue OR Green) • Optional Beaten Egg Yolk Or Milk For “Wash”
On the day:
• Have your oven pre-heated to 220’C • Have your oven shelf in the middle of the oven • Have a rolling pin • Have a 6cm (approx.) scone cutter • The good stuff... jam (strawberry!), butter and very much optional, cream / clotted cream (I appreciate this may not be a priority at the moment).
This should take approx. 30 minutes but we will cut the recording while the scones are in the oven (approx. 12 minutes).
